Deborah Stavis, CFP®
Deborah Stavis is a Certified Financial Planner® and pioneer in the wealth management advisory business with more than 35 years of experience. In 2009, Deborah founded Stavis & Cohen Financial (SCF), a Houston-based financial planning boutique with Eddie Cohen, a longstanding colleague, and the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. They currently serve over 200 families nationwide. Stavis & Cohen Financial has been featured in the Houston Business Journal, as well as a featured business in the Growth Strategies section of the newspaper.
Stavis & Cohen Financial was selected in 2012 and 2013 as one of the best places to work by the Houston Business Journal, a distinction of which Deborah is proud. Deborah was also a finalist for Houston Business Journal's 2014 Outstanding Women in Banking and Financial Services Award and a Honoree for Houston Business Journal's 2020 Women Who Mean Business Award.
She has been featured in numerous publications including Forbes, Bloomberg, Houston Chronicle, Oil & Gas Investor and Investment News. Deborah has taught investment, retirement and estate planning at the Rice University Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies since 1984.She is also a member of Stavis & Cohen Financial Investment Committee and of the Greater Houston Community Foundation Council.
Deborah is actively involved in the Houston Community being a Founding Member of the Barbara Bush Foundation Ladies for Literacy Guild and Member of the Women’s Energy Network. She has previously served as an Advisory Board Member for the Rice University Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies and as Committee Member for the Barbara Bush Foundation Celebration of Reading.
Deborah resides in Houston with her husband and two children.
